Benjamin Biolay

Benjamin Biolay will stop at the Théâtre Antique in Vaison-la-Romaine on July 30, 2026. A songwriter, composer and performer, he moves between French chanson, orchestral pop and hints of rock, with a taste for arrangements in which strings, brass, piano and guitars converse without overstating the effect. Since Rose Kennedy he has followed with a succession of albums and projects, crossing paths with Keren Ann, Vanessa Paradis and OrelSan, and shaping a repertoire where the intimate sits alongside a portrait of the times.

On stage, Biolay is carried by a deep, immediately recognizable voice and by instrumental backings that give the lyrics room to breathe. On the program are new tracks from his album Le Disque Bleu and pieces that have marked his recent years, ranging from shadowy ballads to more driving numbers. Surrounded by his musicians, he assembles a set that relies on the band’s dynamics and the precision of the arrangements, alternating moments of respite and rises in tension, to revisit his world without freezing it.
