Anthony Kavanagh

Anthony Kavanagh will present a new work-in-progress show on 29 May 2026 at La Compagnie du Café-Théâtre in Nantes. A comedian, actor and singer from Quebec, he moves between stand-up, improv, music and impressions to talk about what connects us in everyday life: culture clashes, relationships, a hyperconnected society and the search for meaning. Rising to prominence in the 1990s, he made a lasting impression on francophone audiences with one-man shows such as Anthonykavanagh.com and Showman, and his voice can also be heard in animated films like Mulan, Brother Bear and The Princess and the Frog.

In a work-in-progress, he tests ideas, fine-tunes the material and plays with the audience, in a lively format where anything can change from one performance to the next. Pace, rapport and digressions are part of the game, mixing new jokes, spoken–sung moments and improvisations that arise in the moment. It’s an ideal opportunity to discover the backbone of his next show and watch the material take shape before your eyes, with the energy and spontaneity that characterize his stage approach.
