Info
Kaleo bring the Way Down We Go Tour to Montréal on July 29, 2026 at MTELUS. Formed near Reykjavik in 2012, the Icelandic band balances blues rock, folk and alternative rock around the voice and guitar of Jökull “JJ Julius Son” Júlíusson, with Davíð Antonsson, Daníel Kristjánsson and Rubin Pollock. After a first self-titled album released in Iceland, A/B (2016) took them wider with a set that moves between taut electric riffs and stripped acoustic songs. Surface Sounds (2021) added more atmospheric and pop shades while keeping a rock and roots backbone. Their songs switch between English and Icelandic, playing on dynamics and contrasts built around JJ’s vocals.
Also on the bill, Vincent Lima is a Chicago-born songwriter raised in New Jersey and now based in Nashville. His work favors narrative folk with a slightly blues-tinged voice and cinematic arrangements, shaped by 70s references as much as contemporary influences. The 2024 EP Versions of Uncertainty includes the single Orpheus, using the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice as a frame to explore love and loss. His debut album, To Love A Thing That Fades, extends that thread across fifteen tracks on grief, intimacy and the pull to hold on to what recedes.
