On March 6, 2026, at the Trianon Transatlantique in Sotteville-lès-Rouen, Ours returns to the stage with the songs from his fifth album, Le Spleen d’une vie sublime. For nearly twenty years, Charles Souchon has been weaving pop on a human scale, carried by a gentle voice and lyrics of light and shadow. On this new record, eleven restrained ballads mingle the personal and the universal: time slipping away, vulnerability, the desire for lightness, and the memories that remain. Here and there anxieties about the world surface, slipped into a single line. The album also features, for the first time, a track co-written, composed and sung with his father Alain and his brother Pierre. Now a father, Ours adopts a more direct, unvarnished voice here, relying on minimalist arrangements and a melody that goes straight to the point.
Alongside Ours, Karen Lano brings a folk touch with an acoustic texture. A singer-songwriter, she conceives her songs as short narratives where language and imagery take precedence, hovering between clarity and shadow. With her voice up front, she favors pared-back textures that let the texts breathe. Her album Muses, produced by Facteurs Chevaux and recorded in a church in the Eure in 2021, laid the groundwork for an intimate sound, threaded with themes of rebirth and the search for beauty in everyday life. Here, she opens a hushed space that mirrors Ours’s songs.
