Jalen Ngonda will be at La Laiterie in Strasbourg on 19 May 2026. A singer and songwriter operating between Maryland and the United Kingdom, he shapes a soul sound that blends sixties heritage with today’s melodic sensibility. Prominent vocals, clean bass lines, mid-tempos and spare arrangements: a direct songwriting approach that moves between slow ballads and more danceable numbers.

Released in 2023, his debut album Come Around and Love Me laid the foundations of a precise sound that he has continued through a string of singles and collaborations with Gorillaz and Jordan Rakei. On stage, Jalen performs with a compact lineup, leaving room for the voice and the rhythm section, and brings songs to life that speak as much to vintage soul fans as to those curious about contemporary textures. After tours in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Europe, he continues his trajectory and brings to Strasbourg the next chapter of a career built between tradition and modernity.
