Info

Agnes Obel, a Danish artist based in Berlin—singer, composer, producer and classically trained pianist—has developed a writing style at the crossroads of chamber pop, intimate folk and a finely textured neo‑classical idiom. At the Théâtre Sébastopol in Lille on 1 July 2026, she presents a repertoire shaped around piano, voice and a small string ensemble, sometimes colored by discreet electronic touches.

Her first albums, Philharmonics (2010) and Aventine (2013), both certified platinum in Europe, established the foundations of a spare, melodic universe. Citizen of Glass (2016) broadened her sonic palette with vocal modulations and rare instruments such as the Trautonium, while Myopia (2020) continued this introspective exploration, entirely written, recorded and produced in her Berlin studio. In 2018 she curated a Late Night Tales compilation that blends original tracks and poetry. Her music is widely heard on screen and in other media, from The Last of Us and True Detective to Big Little Lies and Dark Souls III. Onstage, pieces like “Riverside,” “Fuel to Fire,” “The Curse,” “September Song,” “It’s Happening Again” and “Familiar” are often revisited within a chamber‑music framework that emphasizes vocal precision and the piano’s sense of space.
