Info
Born in Paris in 1987 out of the punk movement, Les Négresses Vertes crafted an acoustic rock sound that blends French "chanson réaliste" with Mediterranean influences. Propelled by their first album Mlah in 1988 and by songs such as Zobi la mouche and Voilà l’été, the band began to export itself in the late 1980s, reaching the UK charts via remixes in 1989. Their albums Famille nombreuse (1991), Zigzague (1995) and Trabendo (1999) followed, before a hiatus in 2001.
Reformed in 2018, they returned to the road with a 350-date tour through December 2024, and the project resumes in 2026. They will appear on 19 March 2026 at Den Atelier, 54 Rue de Hollerich, 1740 Luxembourg, Luxembourg. On stage, brass, accordion, guitars and percussion carry a repertoire that links their classics to the present moment, in a mix uniquely their own.
Line-up for this date: Stéfane Mellino (guitar, vocals), François Tousch (accordion, backing vocals), Iza Mellino (percussion, backing vocals), Mich Ochowiak (trumpet, backing vocals), Gwen Badoux (trombone, backing vocals), Matthieu Rabaté (drums).
