Grand Corps Malade

On March 10, 2027, Grand Corps Malade takes the stage at Forest National (Forest) for an evening where slam regains its power live. A leading figure of French spoken word, he has, since Midi 20, used a calm and precise phrasing and a deep voice that unfolds city stories, friendship and love without unnecessary effects. His texts rely on imagery and rhythm, supported by a musical setting that is often minimal but finely crafted, between piano, strings and percussion. On stage he favors direct address and breathing, letting the music support the narrative rather than cover it.

Across his albums, from Enfant de la ville to Plan B, through the duets on Mesdames and the Éphémère project with Ben Mazué and Gaël Faye, he has broadened his palette without abandoning his line: to tell the real with simple words and turns of phrase that stick. This concert brings together his signature tracks and more recent titles in a sound design that plays on contrasts and clarity. An opportunity to rediscover slam at ear level, in a band version, with arrangements that leave room for the text and the breath.
