Ibrahim Maalouf

Ibrahim Maalouf brings his trumpet to Forest National Forest on 3 April 2027. Franco-Lebanese and classically trained, he became known for a quarter-tone trumpet that makes jazz and Arabic maqâm converse. Across his projects he moves from an intimate format to more electric ensembles, composes for film and multiplies collaborations. His albums map out a personal sonic geography, between sung melodies, brass in subtle shades, pop pulses and rock energy.

On stage Maalouf constructs clear arcs: a pared-down theme, the breath that widens, then the reintroduction of a motif and the space left for improvisation. The set navigates between danceable grooves and more contemplative passages, with the trumpet as a guiding thread and a band propelled by collective interplay. At Forest National Forest, this date offers the opportunity to revisit signature pieces as well as recent tracks, rearranged for the live set, in a fluid back-and-forth between Levantine heritage and jazz culture.
