Alexis Le Rossignol draws on everyday life and those neutral zones where nothing much happens but where everything gets decided. In Le sens de la vie, he goes back to a horse named Sans Plus and to a vague longing, and unfolds a series of stories at human scale. He blends storytelling with kitchen-table philosophy, slips from a tiny scene into a digression, and puts on the table the questions we usually dodge: what do we do with our lives, how do we make our choices, our renunciations, the little maneuvers we perform to stay upright?
