Info
Bibi Club is the musical project of Adèle Trottier-Rivard (vocals, keyboards) and Nicolas Basque (guitar). Their avant-pop and electronic music incorporates elements of dark wave and neofolk, with baroque touches such as harpsichord, trumpets and ritual chants. The name Bibi Club refers to the nightclub set up in their living room, where their close friends and family—their “bibis”—come to dance.
On their third album, Amaro, Bibi Club addresses grief and the will to live, placing emphasis on love, nature and community. The songs sketch a world traversed by sorrow and fear following the deaths of two loved ones. The refrain “Je veux aimer, je veux vivre” (“I want to love, I want to live”) recurs as a unifying thread.
Inspired by artistic encounters and tours with Blonde Redhead and Circuit des Yeux, as well as a collaboration with Calvin Johnson, Bibi Club continues in this sonic direction. The album also brings together saxophonist and activist Dimitri Milbrun (George Sand) and singer‑songwriter Helena Deland (A Different Light).
