On March 22, 2026, Le Ferrailleur Nantes hosts VILLAGERS OF IOANNINA CITY and MY DILIGENCE for an evening between progressive rock, psychedelia and stoner. Hailing from the mountains of Epirus, the Greeks of VILLAGERS OF IOANNINA CITY blend hypnotic riffs with traditional instruments — bagpipes, clarinet, flute — for a journey rooted in Hellenic culture. Since 2007 they have been shaping a slower, more melancholic sound, punctuated by earthy, seismic surges, at the crossroads of progressive and stoner. Riza (2014) laid the foundations, Age of Aquarius (2019) broadened their spectrum and brought them to numerous stages. Their first live release, Through Space & Time (2021), captures the scope of a band that draws as much from Greek nature as from a cosmic imagination.
MY DILIGENCE comes from Belgium with a vision that marries progressive rock and stoner. The band cultivates carefully crafted harmonies and choruses that lodge in the memory without overplaying their force. Their album The Matter, the Form and Power (2022), produced by Francis Caste and mastered by Raphael Bovey, condenses denser, more immersive songwriting, revealing new facets of their sound. On stage, their heavy psych complements the aesthetic of VILLAGERS OF IOANNINA CITY, creating a pairing that casts two contemporary trajectories of rock into relief.
