Info
Ousanousava, a prominent figure of Réunion’s music scene, has been shaping since the 1980s a sound in which maloya and séga engage in dialogue with songwriting. The group formed around brothers Bernard and François Joron, wrote its first songs as early as 1982 and recorded a self-titled debut album in 1989, which established them on stages in Réunion, mainland France and across the Indian Ocean. Fifteen albums later, including Ça mon pays in 2021, the ensemble continues to sweep through its repertoire with a collective energy that highlights the island’s lyrics and rhythms.
For the 2026 tour, Ousanousava arrives on May 13, 2026 at Le Ponant Pacé with a set conceived as a journey through their records. Eight musicians on stage—guitars, bass and drums, violin and a brass section—create a warm groove driven by traditional percussion and the voices of the Joron brothers. Between signature tracks and more intimate detours, the concert unfolds a hybrid musical style, nourished by the stories and melodies that are the group’s hallmark.
