Sinclair

After a deliberate hiatus, Sinclair returns with a live set rethought from top to bottom. A multi-instrumentalist, he surrounds himself with musicians who are likewise comfortable on several instruments in order to broaden the field of possibilities. On the program, his latest songs take on a new stage dimension, while his emblematic tracks are given fresh rearrangements. Funk remains the backbone of his world, but it entwines with other textures to create a more precise, airier sound that favors nuance over display.

On stage, five accompany him, circulating color and dynamics: guitars and keyboards answer one another, the rhythm section lays down the framework, the bass moves up front, and Sinclair’s voice leads the whole with precision. The idea is not to reproduce the studio versions, but to shift them—to leave room for transitions and the breathing space of live performance.
