The Children’s Palace invites transparency for its inaugural exhibition! A playful, sensory experience to be enjoyed with the family, where artworks and scientific experiments play with light to awaken the curiosity and wonder of the youngest visitors. In an imagined universe designed to stimulate curiosity and fun, children and adults move freely from a shimmering palace of mirrors to a grotto of crystalline treasures, sometimes venturing into a mysterious forest, sometimes toward a radiant sky or the depths of a multicolored ocean.
The arts of sculpture, printmaking and photography enter into dialogue with the sciences through interactive, sensory installations. From 19th-century creations to contemporary works—including immersive pieces by Dan Graham and Soo Sunny Park, ideal for group discovery, and more introspective works by Patrick Neu and Agathe May—the exhibition proposes an original exploration that renews our perception of transparency and light.
Children and their companions experiment with the multiple nuances of transparency, share observations ranging from translucency to darkness, and marvel at the riches of nature as well as those of human craftsmanship throughout a route punctuated by playful spaces and moments of contemplation.
The exhibition extends into an activity booklet, a podcast about transparency… and soon educational outreach events with a series of programmes to go even further! Co-produced by GrandPalaisRmn and the Palais de la Découverte (Universcience).
