Sanit Mils presents:
Gloria de Oliveira (dream pop / ethereal wave - Germany / Brazil)
Trained in classical singing, educated at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and in cinema (Babylon Berlin, Undine by Christian Petzold), Gloria de Oliveira has for several years been pursuing a musical project where dream pop sits beside darkwave, shoegaze, and sometimes bossa nova.
In 2022, she released Oceans of Time on Sacred Bones Records, an album conceived with Dean Hurley, long-time collaborator of David Lynch. It contains something reminiscent of Julee Cruise’s records, with hazy synths, patient arrangements, and that almost unreal voice that threads through the entire record.
On February 20, 2027 at the Caves Saint-Sabin, she will present her third album The Lying Swans, produced by Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Anna von Hausswolff, Marissa Nadler) and recorded between Iceland, New York and Berlin. On the first single Fading Faces, Matt Chamberlain is on drums and Úlfur Hansson on synthesizers and the segulharpa. Gloria here explores a broader sound, carried by guitars sometimes close to glam rock and arrangements that evoke the fantastical soundtracks of the 80s.
