Info
Brooklyn Funk Essentials arrive at L’Usine in Istres on March 28, 2027, with what has defined them since the early 1990s: a groove built collectively, fluid, and always ready to spill over. Born in Brooklyn around Arthur Baker and Lati Kronlund, the project quickly moved beyond the studio to become a true live-stage machine, with a variable lineup, in the spirit of New York clubs.
For this show, expect a vibrant blend of funk, soul and jazz, threaded with hip-hop culture, Latin touches, dub, and a dance energy. Singers, MCs, brass, spoken word: everything flows, it’s a dialogue, it answers back, between live performance and urban production. An evening conceived as a collective, organic celebration, where the audience is part of the movement.
