Madra Salach arrives at La Maroquinerie in Paris on February 19, 2027, with their Dublin-born contemporary folk, nourished as much by Irish tradition as by today’s writing. On stage, the sextet circulates themes and narratives like Ireland’s narrative ballads, but pushes them toward more current textures: traditional instruments weaving together, synths surfacing, distortions that grab, and a band energy carved from the pubs’ improvised sessions. Led by the voice of Paul Banks, Madra Salach moves forward without nostalgia, between ballads, collective outbursts, and discreet experiments. After the singles Blue & Gold and I Was Just A Boy, followed by the EP It’s a Hell of an Age, the group is charting a course toward Gorta, their first album due in 2027. A concert to hear how heritage transforms when it passes through an indie, urban stage.
