Info
Thijs Boontjes arrives on 11 December 2026 at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen with his Dance and Show Orchestra: a band around his voice and keyboards, built on Dutch-language songs that let pop, rock, chanson, and danceable variety collide. Expect no long-winded patter, but tight arrangements, choruses you can sing along to right away, and a sound that nods as much to the dance floor as to the Dutch song tradition.
Boontjes has been on stage for some time: from King Jack to his years as a keyboardist with Anouk and later Douwe Bob, and with that experience at his fingertips, he is now fully focused on his own repertoire. Since his first EP in 2015, it has grown into a string of records, from Geen Achttien Meer and Ambiance to Dancing Boontjes, with singles such as Alleen naar de kermis and Deze Nacht. Live, it’s all about tempo, melody and singing together, with a band that makes the songs bounce without smoothing them out.
