Info
On February 17, 2027, Giant Rooks will perform at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht for a show that nicely demonstrates why the band has been filling European venues at such a pace. The five-piece from Hamm builds its songs around Frederik Rabe's distinctive voice, with guitars that can be both sharp and melodic. Their indie rock and indie pop remain firmly rooted in a band sensibility, but shift just as easily toward modern pop with electronic details and art-pop accents.
Live, that mix works even better: tight pop structures with rhythmic twists, choruses that stick in your head right away, and between them space for more atmospheric, introspective passages. From the early EPs to the broader sound on Rookery and the more refined direction of How Have You Been?, this concert feels like a snapshot of a band that dares to sound bigger all the time without losing its direct, song-oriented approach.
