Perturbator is James Kent’s solo project: a dark, muscular electronic sound nourished by 80s synths, industrial influence, and metal sensibilities, conjuring soundtracks for science fiction and cyberpunk. This isn’t merely a nostalgia exercise: his tracks advance with heavy bass, cold melodies, and abrasive textures, carrying a sense of tension that has marked records such as Dangerous Days, The Uncanny Valley, and Lustful Sacraments.
On November 21, 2026, at 6MIC in Aix-en-Provence, he will roll out this frontal darksynth tailored for live performance, straddling club pulsations and near-rock impact. From his early EPs to more recent works like Age of Aquarius, Perturbator pushes his aesthetic toward something denser and more nerve-wracking, designed to hold the venue in a black light, without let-up.
