Info
JIM is the solo project of James Baron, best known as a founding member and key creative force behind Crazy P. After more than 25 years spent shaping dancefloors through the band and his Ron Basejam work, this set puts the spotlight on a different kind of writing: songs that lean into folk and soul, with a light electronic touch that keeps everything intimate and close-up.
Taking cues from classic songwriter traditions (think Jackson C. Frank, Terry Callier, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Ned Doheny), JIM’s music goes for warmth and detail rather than club pressure. His debut album Love Makes Magic (2023) set the tone with stripped-back arrangements and a quietly addictive groove.
On 16 October 2026, JIM brings that personal live show to Faith In Strangers in Margate, a chance to hear James Baron step out from the collective energy of Crazy P and into his own songs, delivered with the same feel for melody and soul that’s always been there, just turned inside out.
