Info
Born in Boston in 1983, Eli 'Paperboy' Reed is one of the revivalists of classic American soul. At 18 he moved to Clarksdale, Mississippi, where he honed his craft playing Delta juke joints alongside blues veterans. He later spent time in Chicago as music minister at the church of soul legend Mitty Collier, a training that would shape his sound forever. Back in Boston, he formed The True Loves and, in 2008, released Roll With You, an album that propelled him onto the international scene. With a falsetto voice and an intense live show, Reed has spent two decades fusing Chicago soul, gospel, and classic R&B without losing authenticity.
