Yard Act bring their sharp, story-driven post-punk to Wolverhampton on 15 November 2026, taking over University of Wolverhampton at The Halls with the same mix of tension, groove and deadpan bite that’s made them stand out since emerging from Leeds in 2020. Built around vocalist James Smith’s clipped, conversational delivery and Ryan Needham’s locked-in basslines, the band push songs that feel like snapshots: everyday scenes, social friction, small-time characters, all sketched with humour and a clear eye for what’s going on around them.
On stage, those narrated verses and sudden rhythmic turns hit harder, flipping from dry observation to full-band punch without wasting time on ornament. Expect material from their early run of singles through to their 2022 debut album The Overload, where satire and modern British life sit right next to hooks you can shout back. A Yard Act show is direct, fast-moving and tightly played, with the crowd pulled into the stories as much as the riffs.
