On November 5, 2026, Alabama 3 bring their Brixton-born hybrid to The Caves in Edinburgh. Built in the mid-90s around Rob Spragg and Jake Black, the band has always worked the same sweet spot: country and blues rubbed against acid house, trip-hop and electronics, with gospel touches, harmonica and gritty guitars tying it all together. It’s Southern imagery seen through a very British lens, more rave basement than Nashville postcard.
Expect a set that moves fast between live band heat and electronic pulse, drawing from the long run of records that shaped their sound, from Exile on Coldharbour Lane to later releases like Step 13. Alabama 3’s cult visibility also comes from Woke Up This Morning, the track that travelled far beyond the UK scene, and it still sits naturally next to their newer material. Since Jake Black’s passing in 2019, the project has continued around Spragg and a wider circle of collaborators, keeping the same loose, collective energy onstage.
