On September 26, 2026, Mica Millar brings her Manchester-grown soul universe to New Century in Manchester. Singer, songwriter and producer, she sits at the crossroads of jazz, blues and gospel, with a real love for tight vocal harmonies and that warm, retro-leaning atmosphere that never feels like a costume.
Built around her debut album Heaven Knows (2022), a record she wrote, arranged and produced herself, the show leans into contemporary soul with organic playing and a nod to the 60s and 70s backbone of African-American music. Expect songs that move between intimacy and social edge, touching on spirituality, love, oppression and inequality without turning into speeches. On stage, Millar favours an acoustic-minded setup designed for live dynamics: space for the voice, room for the band to breathe, and enough groove to keep it grounded.
