An introductory session with Saligo is part of the Paris Electronic Week lineup, offering an introduction to scratching and mixing techniques at Mains d’Œuvres.
A prominent figure in French and international turntablism, Saligo is a four-time French champion and runner-up at the DMC World Championship in the scratch category. He develops an approach to DJing that is technical, musical, and personal, nourished by influences ranging from ghettotech to breakbeat, footwork, and jungle.
On Friday, October 2, for three hours, he will offer an introduction to scratching and mixing techniques to explore the fundamentals of turntablism and learn to manipulate the turntables with precision and creativity. The program includes: getting to grips with the equipment, first scratches, work on rhythm and gesture, and practical techniques and exercises to develop ease behind the turntables.
