Toi Et Ta Bande - Exposition Collective

The title of the exhibition 'Toi et ta bande', borrowed from a work by the artist Gina Proenza, evokes the multiple bands that traverse the exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo: artist collectives, groups of high school students, choirs, communities of life, work and struggle—forms that interrogate ways of being together. About twenty works, many produced for the occasion, take shape in singular territories: Brittany, the Cévennes, Corsica, Guadeloupe, the Hautes-Pyrénées, Limousin, the Basque Country, etc.

The exhibition interrogates the notion of 'topophilia': an affective sense that binds beings to places, a relationship nourished by ecological, social and territorial reflections. This approach draws the contours of artistic geographies where critical and poetic thoughts develop and subtly infuse the works, the methods of making, and the material conditions of common existence. The spaces and invited artists suggest, through their work, modes of collective organization and their political aspirations: communities sometimes fugitive, but open and supportive.

The exhibition is accompanied by a program of encounters, discussions and concerts throughout the season, as well as screenings.
