On March 17, 2027, Saul Williams brings Leap Life to Belgrave Music Hall in Leeds, his first full-length solo record in seven years. Named after his leap-year birthday, the album is built like a live space more than a strict genre statement: voice up front, rhythm as a guide, and room for intuition. On stage, Williams moves between spoken word and song, sliding through jazz inflections, hip-hop pulse, ambient drift and ceremonial tones, in a show where language hits with the force of percussion.
Known for stretching the line between concert and poetic performance since his 90s spoken-word roots, Williams keeps pushing that hybrid form here, turning declamation, melody and tension-heavy grooves into one continuous narrative. Leap Life also carries the imprint of collaborators like Carlos Niño, Robert Del Naja, Moor Mother, Kamasi Washington, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Surya Botofasina, feeding a set that’s likely to shift shape in real time.
