Snarky Puppy arrives at Interference, in Balma, on April 6, 2027, with its fixation: to put sound before labels. Led by bassist and composer Michael League, the Texan collective advances as a modular orchestra, often large on stage, weaving a largely instrumental music in which funk, R&B, rock, gospel, jazz and Afro-Latin grooves intersect. They play tightly, breathe, and improvisation always holds a real place amid dense arrangements.
After more than twenty years on the road, the group continues to widen its playground without aiming to reproduce what they did the night before. Their recent collaboration with the Metropole Orkest, captured live in Utrecht and released under the name Somni, pushed the orchestral ambition and the group's dynamism even further. On stage, Snarky Puppy combines precision, collective energy and a keen sense of groove, with the impression that the music is always in motion.
