The Mission returns to Sweden on 30 September 2027 for an evening at Fållan in Stockholm, and it is a chance to experience a band that helped shape the encounter between post-punk and goth rock since the mid-1980s. Formed in Leeds in 1986 by Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams after their time with The Sisters of Mercy, they were early known for their drive of atmospheric guitars, grand melodies, and Hussey's distinctive voice.
Live, they typically move seamlessly between the early, nervy legacy and later material, with songs from God's Own Medicine, Children, and Carved in Sand as natural touchstones. At the same time they have continued forward with records such as Aura, God Is a Bullet, and Another Fall from Grace, where the same dark nerve meets more polished songwriting. With the current lineup—Hussey (vocals/guitar), Adams (bass), Simon Hinkler (guitar) and Alex Baum (drums)—expect a performance built on momentum, choruses and a close, intense onstage presence.
