A showman transforms politics into spectacle, playing on fears and desires. With America, Martin Harriague presents an incisive choreographic piece inspired by Donald Trump. A showman without limits, a media figure who has become a politician, he turns the conquest of power into a perpetual performance.

With America, Martin Harriague draws inspiration from this America of spectacle to compose an incisive choreographic piece, where politics is staged as a total mise-en-scène. Carried by twelve dancers, the stage becomes the site of an ongoing tension between attraction and repulsion, humor and vertigo.

The choreographer uses simplified rhetoric as the material for choreography, revealing what it contains of violence, seduction and contradiction. Between collective energy and the fragmentation of narratives, the piece explores a society traversed by paradoxes, where discourse oscillates between promise and brutality.

At the heart of this machinery, other imaginaries also emerge: those of a diverse, vibrant America, filled with desires for hope and freedom. A contemporary dance, closely aligned with the tensions of the world.
