A Guy Called Gerald is a pioneering figure in electronic music, known for his influential contributions to the UK’s acid house and jungle scenes, as well as underground releases such as Black Secret Technology. Coming from Manchester in the late 1980s, Gerald Simpson, known professionally as A Guy Called Gerald, gained recognition with his 1988 track Voodoo Ray, a key release in the acid house movement, as well as his contributions to the development of UK music as part of 808 State.
A Guy Called Gerald continues to perform live sets that combine classic acid house with current electronic beats.
