Behind 1tbsp sits Maxwell Byrne, an Australian producer based in Brisbane, also known as Golden Vessel. With this project launched in the late 2010s, he departs from his other playgrounds to delve into movement-ready electronics: indie-house, melodic house, and electronic pop, driven by laid-back rhythms, punchy basslines, and guest vocals that grab without going over the top. After the Kanashī EP (2021), 1tbsp follows with Joan (2022), then It’s Very Loud and the Mosquito Love album (2023), where pop songwriting rubs shoulders with a more direct club energy. Between singles and collaborations (Nick Ward, Allan McConnell, Squidgenini, Sampology, Mietze Conte, Jai Piccone), the project preserves this dual DNA: built for the dancefloor, yet precise enough to listen to on headphones. 1tbsp will perform live on October 31, 2026 at Studio TD, Montreal.
