On December 8, 2026, mustbejohn brings his indie-pop and spoken-word set to The Bodega Nottingham in Nottingham. Based in the UK, he sits right in that sweet spot between alternative indie, light electronic pop and a talk-sung delivery that keeps everything close to the ground. His writing leans into urban routines, friendships, messy in-between moments and the way people change without really noticing, carried by direct storytelling and choruses that stick without trying too hard.
A couple of early tracks, like “Last Dances” and “Jenny’s House”, helped his name travel online in the early 2020s, and you can hear a British lineage in the background: sharp social observation, rhythm-first phrasing, then a turn into more immediate pop structures. With the EP Hope Came Last (2025), he pushed further into an indie-alternative sound, built as much for headphones as for a room full of people. Live, it’s about that balance: intimate lines up front, and enough band energy to lift the whole thing.
