Mystery Jets bring their West London indie rock to Portsmouth on November 27, 2026, at The Wedgewood Rooms. Formed in the early 2000s around Blaine Harrison and built on a taste for left-field melodies, the band has always liked to twist classic pop songwriting with sharper guitars, restless keyboards and a touch of psych-rock haze.
From the jumpy, shape-shifting energy of Making Dens to the cleaner, more direct punch of Twenty One, they’ve kept that balance between nervous momentum and big, singalong choruses. Over the years, their sound has opened up too, with the fuller pop-rock sweep of Serotonin, the more sunlit, American-leaning tones of Radlands, and the dreamier textures of Curve of the Earth. More recently, A Billion Heartbeats pushed their writing into more social and political territory without losing that knack for bright hooks and tight arrangements. Expect a set that moves fast, hits hard, and leaves space for those melodic turns they’ve made their signature.
