DHP presents Grandmas House.
Grandmas House is a rock band formed in Bristol, bringing together Yasmin Berndt, Poppy Dodgson, Zoë Zinsmeister and Polly around a taut rock sound that blends post-punk, grunge and noise rock. The band took shape when Yasmin, Poppy and Zoë met at university, with the desire to craft music that is direct, abrasive and melodic, driven by a collective energy more than by virtuosity.
Grandmas House first drew notice on the British local scene thanks to a handful of tracks and performances where sharp riffs, thundering bass, pounding drums, and often shared vocals mingle, anchored by Yasmin's deep, gravelly voice. Their aesthetic draws from punk and indie rock while maintaining a taste for memorable choruses, shifts in tension, and a darkness threaded with irony.
Over the course of releases, Grandmas House has established a tighter sound, straddling post-punk urgency and grunge heaviness. The EP Anything For You, released in 2025, continues in this direction with five tracks built around personal themes such as grief, breakup or illness, in concise and sharp writing that remains central to the band's identity.
