Sorcha Richardson arrives at the Empire Music Hall in Belfast on November 4, 2026, with songs at the crossroads of indie lo-fi, folk, and a discreet synth-pop. Born in Dublin, she has carved out a place for herself with a very narrative, direct writing, carried by sober arrangements where the tension often comes from production details rather than effects. After notable EPs in the early 2010s, she spent several years in Brooklyn, using that time to refine a more personal style of songwriting, before returning to anchor herself in the Irish scene. On stage, one finds the through line running through her records, from First Prize Bravery to Smiling Like an Idiot: clear melodies, a voice that tells the story without drawing attention to itself, and a sense of rhythm that borrows as much from soft rock as from light electronic music.
