Waly Dia is a French comedian, actor and writer, born on 6 December 1988 in Grenoble and of French-Senegalese descent. He began his career on stage by taking part in the television show On n’demande qu’à en rire on France 2, then joined the Jamel Comedy Club in 2012 and presented his first solo shows: Face à Face(s), Garde la pêche !, Ensemble ou rien, before tackling Une heure à tuer from 2024, a show for which he is nominated for the Molière Award for Humour. Alongside his performances, Waly Dia appears on television and in cinema, notably in À toute épreuve (2014) and Père fils thérapie ! (2016), and regularly contributes to the radio as a commentator. In his creations he addresses contemporary and societal themes, with a style rooted in spoken word, observation and the stage.
