underscores lands in London on 16 November 2026 at Electric Brixton. The project of April Harper Grey, born in San Francisco in 2000, threads experimental pop with electronic textures, moving from early dubstep roots toward a palette that folds in hyperpop, pop‑punk, emo and indie pop. Across the EPs Skin Purifying Treatment, We Never Got Strawberry Cake and Character Development!, songwriting stepped forward; Fishmonger (2021) fixed a balance of abrasive guitars, tight digital rhythms and clear melodic lines, followed by the EP Boneyard AKA Fearmonger. A run opening for 100 gecs, first headline dates and a stop at Lollapalooza shaped a live approach that plays with contrast and impact without losing intimacy. With Wallsocket (2023) on Mom + Pop, underscores built a narrative Midwest setting, drifting through rock, folk, country and shoegaze, then extended in 2024 with Wallsocket (Director’s Cut) and the single My Guy (Corporate Shuffle). On stage, the set leans into glitchy bursts, guitar‑driven tension and direct vocals, blurring scenes much like in the studio, for a show that keeps shifting form while staying sharply focused.
