Nick Hakim

Nick Hakim brings his hazy blend of neo-soul, psychedelic soul and dreamy R&B to Manchester on 31 October 2026 at YES, 38 Charles Street, M1 7DB. Washington, D.C.-born and based in New York, he’s shaped a sound where supple vocals meet slow-blooming, textured arrangements, drifting between intimate ballads and foggy grooves.

After early self-released EPs Where Will We Go (Parts I & II) in 2014, Hakim unveiled his debut album Green Twins in 2017, followed by Will This Make Me Good in 2020, pushing further into collage-like production and introspective moods. Cometa (2022) took that approach somewhere lighter and more organic, keeping the focus on feel and space. Along the way, he’s kept close ties with New York’s jazz and improvisation circles, recording with Roy Nathanson and Onyx Collective, and collaborating with artists like Erykah Badu, Lil Yachty and Adrianne Lenker.

On stage, Hakim lets songs breathe: lo-fi keys, soft guitar swells and patient rhythms carry a set that moves between R&B lullabies and psychedelic drift. Expect a fluid journey through his catalogue, where dynamics and texture lead the way.
