Appropriating hip-hop much as their New Orleans forebears once embraced jazz, the Youngblood Brass Band combines a sense of tradition with an uninhibited attitude.
Embracing a brass-and-drums aesthetic to carry the brass-band model into modern territory, the ensemble—which cut its teeth on the roads of Wisconsin before touring across Europe—offers a repertoire of funk, soul and hip-hop.
