La mode du 18e siècle. Un héritage fantasmé

On March 14, 2026, at 9 a.m., the Palais Galliera, Paris’s Fashion Museum, unveils the exhibition "18th‑Century Fashion: An Imagined Heritage", which presents the characteristics of women's fashion during the Age of Enlightenment and its many reinterpretations throughout the history of fashion up to the present day. Often perceived as a distant, even dusty century, the 18th century nonetheless represents a major stage in the evolution of women's appearance that continues to influence the world of fashion and popular culture today.
