The Hoosiers return as the core duo of Irwin Sparkes and Alan Sharland, bringing their sharp, melodic pop-rock back to Brighton. On 16 October 2026 at Chalk, they revisit the energy that first put them on the map in 2007 while leaning into the more mature pulse of their latest chapter. Confidence, their sixth album, anchors a set built on bright hooks, piano-led grooves and wry lyrics, balanced with the indie bite that runs through their catalogue.
On stage, the pair lead a band where choppy guitars and buoyant keys frame Sparkes’ vocals, with drums pushing the songs forward. New tracks from Confidence sit alongside early favourites from The Trick to Life and the records that followed, with arrangements that balance polish and punch. It’s a show that traces their path from nervy, riff-friendly beginnings to a more synth-tinged pop-rock, without losing the direct, singable core that defines The Hoosiers.
