Info
Grupo Cañaveral de Humberto Pabón brings its cumbia to London for the first time on 13 September 2026 at Islington Assembly Hall, Upper Street, London. Founded in Mexico City in 1995 by musician Humberto Pabón, the band links Colombian cumbia roots with the tropical pulse of Mexico’s dance floors. With Emir Pabón now fronting the group, their live set weaves songs that have crossed generations: Tiene Espinas el Rosal, No Te Voy a Perdonar, Hasta el Cielo Lloró, Echarme al Olvido, Hui Pi Pi and Flor de Mayo. Percussion, brass and call-and-response vocals drive arrangements built for collective dancing, a signature the group has kept since its early days. Along the way, they have shared studio or stage with Yuri, Grupo Niche, Bronco, Los Ángeles Azules, Belinda, Pedro Fernández, Ana Bárbara, Los Tucanes de Tijuana and María León, opening their sound without losing the core cumbia swing.
Also on the bill: Mariachi El Mexicano and DJ Maritza, setting the tone around the live show for a London night shaped by Mexican rhythms.
