Ghinzu play Oslo Hackney in London on 10 June 2026. Born on Brussels’ indie scene at the end of the 1990s, the Belgian band shapes a rock sound with piano at the center, sharp guitars, and electronic and orchestral shades that bring a filmic tension. Fronted by singer-keyboardist John Stargasm, they work with long forms, abrupt breaks and slow builds, balancing melodic lines with rougher textures.
From the self-released Electronic Jacuzzi (2000) to Blow (2004), which carried the group beyond Belgium, and Mirror Mirror (2009), their recordings map this taste for contrast and arrangement. On stage, that blueprint becomes physical: piano figures drive the themes, riffs meet synths, rhythms tighten then open into broad crescendos. A set that moves between direct impact and layered atmospheres, digging into their catalog and the sound they’ve honed between alternative and indie rock with electronic touches.
