DJ Assault

DJ Assault lands in London for an extended set at Village Underground on 13 June 2026. A pivotal figure of Detroit’s ghettotech since the 1990s, Craig De Sean Adams fuses electro, Detroit techno, Miami bass and hip-hop into a fast, lean and bass-forward sound. Coming up through block parties and local radio, he sharpened a style built on rapid drum programming, tough low-end and chopped vocals that shaped the ghetto bass blueprint.

Behind the decks, his approach is direct and physical: swift blends, rough-cut edits and on-mic interjections that keep the floor moving. His discography, largely 12-inch singles released via his Jefferson Ave imprint, stays close to the needs of DJs and dancers, from club-ready EPs to hybrid compilations. Decades of sets across Detroit clubs, Midwest raves and tours through Europe and Japan have honed a method where electro jolts, booty house bounce and rap-inflected breaks slot together at high tempo.

At Village Underground, he stretches that formula over a long session, threading classic Detroit grit with bass pressure and vocal cuts, locked to the dancefloor from start to finish.
