Yonaka

Brighton’s Yonaka bring their mix of alt-rock bite, pop instinct and a touch of punk to New Century, Manchester, on 2 October 2026. Led by Theresa Jarvis, with George Werbrouck-Edwards on guitar, Alex Crosby on bass and keys, and Robert Mason on drums, the quartet sculpts heavy riffs, tight hooks and rhythms that nod to hip-hop and modern pop. On stage, that blend becomes direct, propulsive songs built for choruses you can sing back.

Since their early EPs Heavy, Teach Me To Fight and Creature, Yonaka have traced a path between big guitars and candid writing. The debut album Don’t Wait ’Til Tomorrow put themes of mental health and intimacy at the centre, then the mixtape Seize The Power opened the palette with a more hybrid approach. With the 2023 EP Welcome To My House, they kept that balance between straight-ahead rock energy, accessible structures and updated production. Expect a set that swings from hushed verses to big choruses, with the band’s tight chemistry driving every turn.
