Rostam

Rostam brings his pop songwriting to Village Underground in London on 8 September 2026. First known as the composer, arranger and producer within Vampire Weekend, the American musician has since built a solo path that steers indie pop toward chamber textures and discreet electronics. On stage, he weaves detailed arrangements, fragmented rhythms and layered vocals into songs that shift between quiet ballads and more propulsive patterns.

His solo albums Half-Light (2017) and Changephobia (2021) anchor the repertoire, reworked with the clarity of a live band and room for new material. Active as a producer and co-writer with artists including Clairo, Haim and Hamilton Leithauser, Rostam treats production as part of the writing, blurring the line between studio craft and live playing. The set stays close to the song: close harmonies, fine-grained timbres, and a measured dialogue between acoustic instruments and electronics that has become his signature.
