Info
Good Kid hits The Palais in Nottingham on 23 September 2026, sharing the bill with Brisbane’s Last Dinosaurs for a night built on sharp guitars, quick tempos and concise hooks.
From Toronto, Good Kid brings Nick Frosst (vocals), Jon Kereliuk (drums), Michael Kozakov (bass), and guitarists David Wood and Jacob Tsafatinos. Their sound croises J-rock‑tinged riffs, pop‑punk drive and indie rock clarity, with fast choruses, clean guitars and a direct vocal line. The lyrics dig into everyday scenes, friendships and early‑adult doubts, filtered through video games, anime and internet culture. After EPs in 2018, 2020 and 2022, the band recorded debut album Can We Hang Out Sometime? in Los Angeles with producer John Congleton, broadening the palette while keeping the melodic push. On stage, they lean on group dynamics and invite the crowd into the set.
Last Dinosaurs emerged from Brisbane’s late‑2000s indie scene around singer‑guitarist Sean Caskey, joined by his brother Lachlan on guitar and Michael Sloane on bass. Their blend folds brisk indie rock, new wave traces and pop tempos, with chiselled guitar lines, forward bass and melodies that nod to Japanese pop and post‑punk. From the EP Back from the Dead (2010) to albums In a Million Years (2012), Wellness (2015), Yumeno Garden (2018) and From Mexico with Love (2022), they’ve shaped tight songwriting that adapts live, whether dance‑ready or stripped back.
